Originally from Nebraska, Juliet graduated from Amherst with a degree in History and Environmental Studies. After graduation, she worked for four years with Teach for America in New Orleans, teaching at risk elementary school children and later as the Manager of Local Giving and the Development Coordinator- directing strategy and systems to grow the budget for the corps members in New Orleans. As a medical student, she has continued to be active and served in the student government as the treasurer and curricular representative for the MD/MPH program and participated on the committee for the LCME working group. In addition, she has been actively involved as a student researcher with a group studying the functional outcomes in schizophrenia – in this role, she has first authored two book chapters, three peer-reviewed journal articles, senior-authored one article, and presented findings at two national conferences. Her MPH work has focused on evaluating the effectiveness and feasibility of school-based blood pressure screening. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and spending time with her dog Bugsy.
