Specialty Areas: Management of general pulmonary diseases including: asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, sarcoidosis, lung nodules, pulmonary fibrosis and interstitial lung disease.

Dr. Maguire’s research interests involve outcomes in critically ill patients. She focus on both patient centered outcomes along with workforce delivery in the ICU. As well she has an interest in events leading up to critical illness with the involvement of rapid response teams and sepsis quality improvement. As part of the ICU research team at UNC, she remains dedicated to quality assessment/improvement, building healthcare information technology, and research involving health services delivery.

She is also involved in the management of pulmonary patients at the UNC Sanford Specialty Clinic in Sanford and provides pulmonary and critical care consults to Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford North Carolina.
