DESCRIPTION:Dr. Ronald Falk’s lifelong career has been the study of autoimmune kidney disease and ANCA vasculitis. His research has led to a deeper understanding of the causes and conditions that may lead to the development of ANCA vasculitis in an effort to improve the lives of those patients afflicted with vasculitis and autoimmune kidney diseases. \nDr. Falk received the prestigious NIH Astute Clinician Award and presented this topic at the NIH. Nominated by the NIH community\, the Astute Clinician Award recognizes the scientist’s contributions and exemplifies how astute clinical observations lead to innovative research. NIH Astute Clinicians are scientists who observed an unusual clinical occurrence and\, by investigating it\, opened up an important new avenue of research. Through this lecture series\, the NIH works to keep researchers abreast of the latest and most important research in the United States and beyond.
