DESCRIPTION:Jessica Lin\, MD\, MSCR\n  \nJessica Lin is an assistant professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases and a principal investigator in the Infectious Disease Epidemiology and Ecology Lab at UNC. Before COVID\, she was pursuing clinical and translational studies on drug-resistant malaria and malaria transmission in Cambodia and Tanzania.  In April 2020\, she launched Co-HOST\, a study of household transmission of SARS-CoV-2 in North Carolina.  She will be presenting full unpublished results from the study.

DESCRIPTION:Save the Date_ 7th Annual Women’s Heart Symposium 2021 3 \nIn North Carolina\, cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death among women\, with heart disease and stroke accounting for more than a quarter of all deaths. Education can help reverse this trend and is the core component of the Women’s Heart Symposium. \nWe hope you can join Dr. Paula Miller\, UNC School of Medicine professor and director of the UNC Women’s Heart Program\, and other cardiovascular experts in a range of heart health topics. This year’s event will be virtual\, and you are able to sign up for one or multiple sessions below. If you are unable to join sessions live but would like to view a recording later\, we encourage you to register. \nGuests who register will receive a T-shirt and a flash drive of the presentations\, so please include the best mailing address along with your T-shirt size.

DESCRIPTION:About Book Club\nThe LGBTQ Center Book Club is a twice-monthly meeting of lit nerds and casual readers who love to discuss books\, fanfic\, and other readings with LGBTQIA+ themes. . We meet on a pattern of discussing things we love/late to read on the 1st Friday and meeting to discuss the group’s chosen works on the 3rd Friday. We stay in touch and discuss readings using a dedicated GroupMe chat in between meetings. \n\nFall 2020 Schedule\n1st and 3rd Friday starting 8/21 from 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm starting with an interest meeting on 8/21/2020. \nSeptember 4th: Reading recs meeting.
