For example, \u201ccolitis\u201d means inflammation of the colon<\/p>\n<h2>Jejunum<\/h2>\n<p>Middle segment of the small bowel<\/p>\n<h2>Osteoporosis<\/h2>\n<p>Loss of bone tissue or changes in the overall form of the bone resulting in reduced mechanical strength and a tendency to fracture<\/p>\n<h2>Perforation<\/h2>\n<p>Formation of a hole in the wall of a hollow organ, such as the bowel<\/p>\n<h2>Peritonitis<\/h2>\n<p>Inflammation of the membrane lining the inner surface of the abdomen<\/p>\n<h2>Pouch<\/h2>\n<p>Reservoir for stool that is surgically created from a bowel loop<\/p>\n<h2>Relapse<\/h2>\n<p>Renewed manifestation of disease symptoms, such as an acute flare-up in IBD<\/p>\n<h2>Stenosis<\/h2>\n<p>Narrowing of the bowel often caused by inflammation. Over time, longlasting inflammation can result in scar-tissue formation that makes the narrowing permanent<\/p>\n<h2>Stricture<\/h2>\n<p>Another name for stenosis.
