About

Kimberly N. Weaver, MD is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Weaver specializes in the care of adult patients with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis within the UNC Multidisciplinary Center for Inflammatory Bowel Diseases. Her clinical and research interests include preventive health measures and improving the quality of IBD care, women’s health in IBD including pregnancy, and novel IBD therapies. She is co-principal investigator of PREVENT-COVID (The Partnership to Report Effectiveness of Vaccination in populations Excluded from iNitial Trials of COVID), a multicenter observational study that aims to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccination in pediatric and adult IBD patients. She was selected as a Clinical Trialist Training Program scholar for the 2021-2022 academic year at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Weaver is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology where she serves on the Professionalism Committee. She is also a member of the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation where she serves on the CCF National Scientific Advisory Patient Education Committee.
