Dr. Long is the Vice Chief of Education and Director of the fellowship program in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology.\u00a0 Her interests include \u00a0research on prevention of complications of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and women\u2019s health. She is currently co-principal investigator for two large observational cohorts, IBD Partners and PREVENT-COVID. \u00a0IBD Partners is a prospective cohort focusing upon patient reported outcomes that includes over 16,000 patients living with IBD and PREVENT-COVID is a study of effectiveness and safety of COVID-19 vaccination in patients with IBD. Dr. Long is also an investigator for a number of interventional randomized controlled trials and observational studies in IBD at UNC.<\/p>\n
Dr. Long has contributed numerous peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and review articles to the medical literature. She is Co- Editor in Chief for the American Journal of Gastroenterology.<\/em>\u00a0 Dr. Long is a fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Gastroenterological Association, where she serves on the education and training committee.
