An internist by clinical training, he also has master\u2019s degrees in Epidemiology and in Mathematical Statistics. He now works as a clinical epidemiologist and trialist, currently focusing on cancer epidemiology and prevention, and the epidemiology of gastrointestinal disorders. He is the leader of the Polyp Prevention Study Group, a multi-centered research consortium that has conducted several important colorectal chemoprevention trials. He is also active as a clinical epidemiologist in the Early Detection Research Network and the Colon Family Registry.
