About
Advanced Practice Provider (APP) for the Division of Hematology specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of malignant hematology disorders in hospitalized patients ranging from adolescence to all phases of adulthood. Malignant Hematology APPs are an integral component of the healthcare team dedicated to deliver highly specialized and compassionate care to patients by the diagnosis and management of various blood cancers and other medical disorders. Disease groups treated include various forms of leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, and other rare forms of blood cancer. Malignant Hematology APPs also treat and manage the care of patients undergoing investigational therapy in the form of clinical trials. Malignant Hematology APPs perform various diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including bone marrow biopsies, lumbar punctures and ommaya reservoir access for intrathecal chemotherapy administration and skin biopsies. Given the highly specialized nature of the service, malignant hematology APPs also serve to educate and mentor aspiring APPs and trainees in the world of malignant hematology as well as general medicine and serve as a critical resource to others.
