Nick Brazeau is a MD/PhD Student at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. He received his A.B., magna cum laude with highest honors, from Harvard College, majoring in Human Evolutionary Biology. After college, Nick pursued a student Fulbright fellowship studying chimpanzees in Western Uganda, where he became interested in infectious diseases and global health. He completed his PhD in infectious disease epidemiology, focusing on malaria, under the direction of Steve Meshnick, Jon Juliano, and other members of the IDEEL group. Subsequently, he worked with the Imperial College of London COVID-19 Response Team to re-estimate the COVID-19 infection fatality ratio with serologic data. When Nick is not sitting in front of a computer, he can be found hiking, biking, wrestling, or reading (especially historical fiction).
