University of North Carolina Project-Malawi invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals to fill the following positions:
Laboratory Research Coordinator. The position will work closely with the Laboratory Director to implement and monitor laboratory related research activities within UNC Project. She/he is required to closely work with the Laboratory Supervisors to ensuring that the laboratory employees perform their duties in accordance with the requirements of the study protocols, Good Clinical Laboratory Practices and quality requirements of the UNC Project. The Laboratory Research Coordinator must be accessible to the laboratory and the study teams to provide onsite consultation as needed.
Accounting Technician. Files financial documents manually and electronically. Makes payments through payment vouchers. Manages cash. Writes/posts receipts for all transactions. Prepares management accounts. Prepares/checks invoices and payment vouchers. Issues/writes bank FCDA transfer letters. Performs bank reconciliations. Manages payroll programs. Prepares reports for network accounts. Performs any other duties assigned by supervisor.
Evaluation Assistants. Reporting to the District Supervisor, the Evaluation Assistant is responsible for properly engaging health facility personnel, village chiefs, their clerks and general community members to ensure their participation in the project. The Evaluation Assistant is also responsible for collecting complete, accurate and timely mortality surveillance data. Lilongwe Rural: 7 positions, Mchinji: 1 position, Ntchisi: 2 positions.
