Areas of Interest
HIV transmission, pathogenesis, prevention, and cure. Development of in vivo models for clinically relevant and emerging human pathogens.
About
My overarching long-term research goal is to provide the field with fundamental knowledge about HIV transmission, pathogenesis and persistence that will result in novel effective approaches to reduce the incidence of HIV. My research is currently focused on three important aspects of HIV infection transmission, prevention, and persistence. In addition, our group develops in vivo models to study clinically relevant and emerging human pathogens including SARS-CoV-2, RSV, HCMV, TB, Zika virus, etc.
