Dougald Monroe, PhD

Dougald Monroe, PhD, professor medicine in the division of hematology and member of the UNC Blood Research Center, has received an NIH NHLBI award. The R01HL151984 grant “An integrated computational and experimental approach to understanding the hemostatic response during treatment of bleeding” was awarded four years of funding and will enable researchers to create better mathematical models that can guide development of novel antithrombotics or new therapeutics for bleeding.

Collaborators include Karin Leiderman (lead PI) of the Colorado School of Mines and Aaron Fogelson of the University of Utah, experts in mathematical modelling, as well as experimentalist Keith Neeves of the University of Colorado in Denver.
