My clinical and research interests surround women\u2019s health <\/span>with<\/span>in nephrology- including contraception, fertility, pregnancy, <\/span>and <\/span>postpartum care.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>Ultimately, my goal is to improve maternal and fetal outcomes for women with chronic kidney disease while also preserving kidney function and reducing long-term cardiovascular risk.\u00a0<\/span> Along with the division of maternal fetal medicine, we hold a monthly multidisciplinary clinic for women with CKD<\/span> where <\/span>we offer preconception counseling as well as <\/span>comprehensive <\/span>pregnancy and postpartum care.<\/span>\u00a0 I also hold clinic <\/span>regularly<\/span> at the UNC Nephrology Panther Creek clinic<\/span> location<\/span> in Cary<\/span>, NC<\/span> and <\/span>s<\/span>pend time in the hospital on our nephrology consult service.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":2426,"menu_order":0,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"layout":"","cellInformation":"","apiCallInformation":"","_links_to":"","_links_to_target":""},"ud_division":[100,156,163,162,155,107,94,98,108],"class_list":["post-3311","ud_entry","type-ud_entry","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","ud_division-adult-nephrology","ud_division-all-faculty-profiles","ud_division-autoimmune","ud_division-kid-center-clinical-research-faculty","ud_division-our-faculty-syndication","ud_division-mfm-vilcom","ud_division-nephrology-faculty","ud_division-no-descriptionneph-mfm","ud_division-panther-creek","odd"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"\nMonica L.
