Christopher Jensen, MD, MSCR, recently received the prestigious Robert A. Winn Excellence in Clinical Trials Career Development Award.

The highly competitive, two-year award supports the career development of early-career physician-investigators through advanced training, mentorship, and leadership in clinical trials. This award program seeks to improve patient participation in clinical studies so that treatments developed are tested, safe, and effective for all who will use them, and that people in hard-to-reach communities have better access to the latest advances in medicine.

The award will provide $240,000 for a mentored research program focused on “STOP-CLL: A Phase II Trial of Purposeful Discontinuation of Covalent BTK Inhibitors in Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia to Evaluate Event-Free Survival, Resolution of Toxicities, and Patient-Reported Outcomes.”

Dr. Jensen is an assistant professor of medicine in the UNC Division of Hematology.
