About

Tammy Triglianos is an experienced Adult Oncology Nurse Practitioner and has provided care for cancer patients at the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center since 2007. Tammy is a critical member of the gastrointestinal oncology team and plays a key role in the multidisciplinary liver clinic. Well versed in symptom management, chemotherapy regimens, clinical trials, survivorship, and end-of-life care, her approach to patient care includes collaboration with providers across multiple disciplines and recommending cutting edge, evidence-based treatments and clinical trials that meet individual patient needs. Outside of her clinical duties, Tammy is passionate about education and is an active member of the UNC Advanced Practice Provider Center, serving on the Mentoring Subcommittee. She serves as APP Lead in the Division of Oncology, offering unique insight to leadership and providing mentorship, training, and guidance to colleagues. As an Adjunct Faculty member in the UNC School of Nursing, Tammy precepts nurse practitioner students. She also serves on the Education Committee for the Advanced Practitioner Society for Hematology and Oncology. Tammy pursued educational opportunities by earning a purple belt in Lean Six Sigma which has allowed her to work closely with divisional, hospital and cancer center leadership to implement several quality improvement initiatives. Tammy completed her Doctor of Nursing degree in 2020 with her dissertation “Addressing Organizational Engagement Gaps: A Pilot Project for Oncology Advanced Practice Provider Grand Rounds”. In 2021, Tammy turned this pilot concept into a reality, and in partnership with the UNC Lineberger Cancer Network, established an APP-centric Grand Rounds. Tammy actively coordinates this monthly series, which offers a platform for APPs across the State to share expertise, professional development, opportunities for collaboration, and increase knowledge and skills that foster ongoing quality patient care. She is a member of the Oncology Nursing Society, American Society of Clinical Oncology, North Carolina Nurses Association and American Nurses Association.
