Smoking is undoubtedly one of the greatest preventable health hazards our society faces. Among the many ill effects of smoking, it significantly contributes to the development of heart disease, emphysema, chronic bronchitis, and lung cancer. Because smoking is such a difficult habit to break, yet so important, UNC is ready to help you quit! Doctors and nurses in the pulmonary clinic and the multidisciplinary lung cancer clinic (MTOP) can address the use of medications to aid quitting.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
