The Allenzara Lab’s Research Mission

Idiopathic inflammatory myopathies, also known as myositis, are a group of rare diseases which may cause rashes, muscle weakness and/or shortness of breath.

We seek to understand ways to reduce complications and advance treatment for people living with myositis and other rare diseases. Our aim is to learn when and why conditions like cancer, heart disease and lung disease develop, to provide more personalized care and improve long-term outcomes for people living with myositis.

We also offer clinical trials, providing access to promising new treatments, such as CAR-T treatments.
