Food allergies occur when our immune system mistakenly sees a particular food as harmful. When our immune system attacks the food allergen, our body responds with symptoms that can be mild or life-threatening. Food allergies are a growing food safety and public health concern, but early recognition and strict avoidance of food allergens can help patients manage the symptoms.<\/p>\n
