Dr. Jonas is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Rheumatology, Allergy, and Immunology and is the Program Director for the Rheumatology Fellowship Training Program. She also plays a large role in the Foundation Phase of the new medical school curriculum. In 2015, Dr. Jonas received the American College of Rheumatology Distinguished Fellowship Program Director Award.<\/p>\n

What is your clinical expertise?<\/em><\/h4>\n

My clinical interests are in the evaluation and management of patients with inflammatory arthritis, including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and enteropathic arthritis. <\/span><\/p>\n

What current project or initiative at UNC are you involved in that you are excited about?<\/em><\/h4>\n

I am most excited about my involvement in the new medical school curriculum. I am the Co-Director of the Multi-Organ Synthesis course in the Foundation Phase. This course gives us an opportunity to teach multi-system autoimmune diseases that have previously been missing from the UNC curriculum. Through the Multi-Organ Synthesis course we are able to share our enthusiasm for rheumatology with medical students. <\/p>\n

What do you love most about Chapel Hill?<\/em><\/h4>\n

What I love most about Chapel Hill is that it has a small town feel, but it is rich in culture. Being from NY, I never thought I would be happy outside a major metropolitan center. Chapel Hill has proven me wrong!<\/p>\n
