The UNC Internal Medicine Program welcomes the following chief residents who will serve during the 2020-2021 academic year. The administrative chief resident is a position of distinction, professionalism and leadership. These appointed physicians will lead and mentor residents, as they learn to recognize the needs of the department and hospital.<\/p>\n

Josh Hudson, MD, Erin Finn, MD, Sydney Greenberg, MD, Carlos Rubiano, MD, and Katie Gill, MD, practicing COVID precautions.<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Inpatient Chief: Carlos Rubiano, MD<\/strong><\/p>\n

Carlos Rubiano<\/strong> was born in Bogota, Colombia, and grew up in South Florida. He attended college at Florida Gulf Coast University and medical school at Florida State University. While in medical school Carlos was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society and the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Carlos will pursue training in hospital medicine.<\/p>\n

Inpatient Chief: Sydney Greenberg, MD<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sydney Greenberg<\/strong> grew up in Longmeadow, MA, and attended Johns Hopkins University where she obtained her bachelor\u2019s degree in public health. After college, she spent two years teaching high school math in rural Louisiana before returning to her home state to attend medical school at the University of Massachusetts School of Medicine. While there, she developed a culinary medicine course for students, continued to grow her interest in medical education curriculum development, and was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. Sydney will pursue training in hospital medicine.<\/p>\n

Outpatient Chief: Katie Gill, MD<\/strong><\/p>\n

Katie Gill<\/strong> grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio. After graduating from Ohio State University, she attended medical school at Wright State University where she grew to love medical education and was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Katie will pursue primary care and academic medicine.<\/p>\n

WakeMed Chief: Josh Hudson, MD<\/strong><\/p>\n

Josh Hudson<\/strong> grew up in Killington, CT. After studying molecular and cell biology at the University of Conneticut, he attended medical school at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA, and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha society. Josh is pursuing training in gastroenterology and academic medicine.<\/p>\n

Medicine-Pediatrics Chief: Erin Finn, MD<\/strong><\/p>\n

Erin Finn<\/strong> grew up in Upper Saddle River, NJ.\u00a0 After studying molecular biology at Colgate University and graduating Summa Cum Laude, she attended the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry where she distinguished herself as a clinical scholar.
