The webinar is designed for primary care providers, nurses, dietitians, certified diabetes care and education specialists, community health workers, and other health care professionals, and will provide valuable information and resources to address food insecurity and diabetes in the community.<\/p>\n<p>Food insecurity is defined by the United States Department of Agriculture as lacking consistent access to enough food for an active and healthy life.\u00a0 The risk for type 2 diabetes is increased twofold in those with food insecurity. The ADA\u2019s standards of medical care in diabetes highlights the importance of addressing diabetes and food insecurity.<\/p>\n<p>This <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cvent.com\/events\/free-webinar-series-health-disparities-community-health-workers-resources\/event-summary-46b1553ce55247028ccbb241ca5642a7.aspx\"><strong>webinar<\/strong><\/a> will offer 1.5 CME\/CE credits.
