It offers patients the opportunity to participate in a month long program to provide education through virtual provider-to-patient group sessions in order to improve stay-at-home self-monitoring and self-management strategies. In total, 119 patients have completed the survey, and 101 have enrolled in the virtual education program, which started on Thursday, May 7. Now, halfway through the educational program, Gehi&#8217;s team averages 70 participants for each of their two, one hour-long sessions per week. This program has received tremendous positive feedback from patients, who have reported learning more about AFib through this program than they have since they were diagnosed.<\/p>\n<p>Gehi&#8217;s program team is composed of <strong>Tiffany Armbruster<\/strong>, <strong>Zach Deyo<\/strong>, PharmD, BCPS, CPP, <strong>Sriram Machineni<\/strong>, MD, <strong>Lindsay Mosteller<\/strong>, MSW, LCSW, <strong>Lindsey Rosman<\/strong>, PhD, and <strong>Jennifer Walker<\/strong>, ANP-BC.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Anil Gehi, MD, Sewell Family-McAllister Distinguished Professor in the division of cardiology, received a grant from the Bristol-Myers Squibb Foundation to create a new patient education program to help patients with atrial fibrillation during the COVID-19 pandemic.
