UNC Thurston Arthritis Research Center (TARC) scientists and affiliated researchers have published a new study in Arthritis Care and Research.<\/em><\/p>\n

The study “Fear of Movement and Associated Factors Among Adults with Symptomatic Knee Osteoarthritis” was published in Arthritis Care and Research<\/a>. It concludes that fear of movement (FOM) is common for patients with osteoarthritis of the knee and suggests behavioral and psychological interventions may decrease FOM as well as improve outcomes.<\/p>\n

Kelli Allen, PhD, was the Principal Investigator for the study, working with colleagues; Alexander Gunn, BA; Todd Schwartz, DRPH; Liubov Arbeeva, MA; Yvonne Golightly, PhD; Leigh Callahan, PhD; and Maura Iversen, DSc.<\/p>\n
