Last week, the UNC Department of Medicine matched residents to fellowships, filling a variety of positions in its subspecialty training programs.<\/em><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>\u00a0The fellowship match process starts the summer of third-year residency and ends in December. Applicants prepare applications, they interview, and they rank a list of preferred programs. After the interviews take place, fellowship programs rank their applicants. Then, a national computerized algorithm aligns the preferences of applicants with the preferences of program directors, to produce the best possible matches.<\/p>\n<p>The UNC Department of Medicine is pleased to recognize those who recently matched to its subspecialty training programs.
