Dr. Debra Bynum, program director for the internal medicine program, introduced each of them, recognizing their impact on the department of medicine and UNC as an institution.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese chiefs have all been staunch resident advocates and patient champions,\u201d said Bynum. \u201cThey\u2019ve not only accepted change, but embraced it, with positive attitudes that have been outstanding. They\u2019ve helped make my year very easy and fun.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The one year in review lecture highlighted the following resident projects:<\/p>\n<p>-Anthony Mazzella, MD, and Rosanne Tiller, MD, presented <i>Multidisciplinary Bedside Rounds.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>-Alyssa Tilly, MD, presented a <i>Professional Development Coaching Program<\/i><\/p>\n<p>-Russell Coletti, MD, presented <i>Expected Practices Tool<\/i><\/p>\n<p>-Hannah Bensimhon, MD, presented <i>Social Determinants of Cardiovascular Disease<\/i> at Wake Med\u2019s Medicine Grand Rounds.<\/p>\n<p>As the program came to a close, the chiefs invited Chair Dr. Ron Falk to the stage for a surprise gift.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><!-- description --> <\/p>\n<p class='lead'>Department of medicine
