UNC joined the Novavax phase III clinical trial at the end of 2020, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/medicine\/directory\/cynthia-gay-md-mph\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Cindy Gay<\/a>, MD, associate professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases, as the principal investigator.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is critical to continue our research on COVID-19 vaccines because we aren\u2019t at the finish line yet.
