The annual event promotes organ donation awareness and the proceeds go to the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.unckidneycenter.org\/\">UNC Kidney Center<\/a>,\u00a0for direct patient services.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s event took place on August 22, raising approximately $30,000. It first began in 2002, and since then has brought in nearly $400,000 for the UNC Kidney Center.<\/p>\n<p>David Massicotte-Azarniouch, MD, MSC, a GN fellow in the division of nephrology and hypertension, was one of 620 riders who participated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis was my first time participating in the Raven Rock Ramble, and it was a chance to do a great cycling event for a great cause. What more could I ask for?\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ravenrockramble.org\">Next year\u2019s event<\/a> is scheduled for May 1, 2022.
