For the small study, all 18 patients were given dostarlimab, a checkpoint inhibitor. The results were astounding. Every patient&#8217;s cancer disappeared, undetectable by physical examination, endoscopy, PET scans, or M.R.I. scans.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/medicine\/directory\/hanna-k-sanoff-md-mph\/\">Dr. Hanna K. Sanoff<\/a>, MD, MPH, an associate professor of medicine in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/medicine\/oncology\/\">Division of Oncology<\/a> in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/medicine\">Department of Medicine<\/a> at the University of North Carolina, wrote an <a class=\"css-yywogo\" title=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nejm.org\/doi\/full\/10.1056\/NEJMe2204282\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">editorial<\/a> accompanying the paper.
