He also serves as the Associate Director of the Institute for Global Health and Infectious Diseases, and the Associate Program Director of Research and Professional Development for the UNC Infectious Disease Fellowship Program. Dr. Juliano conducts malaria research, leading the IDEEL laboratory for collaborative interdisciplinary studies that explore how pathogens interact with human hosts. He is also a preceptor in UNC\u2019s Curriculum in Genetics and Molecular Biology.<\/p>\n<p>Applicants for IDSA Fellowship are nominated by their peers and meet specified criteria that include continuing identification with the field of infectious diseases, national or regional recognition and publication of their scholarly work. They are elected by the IDSA Board of Directors and work in many different settings, including clinical practice, teaching, research, public health and health care administration.<\/p>\n<p>The Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) is an organization of over 12,000 physicians, scientists, public health experts and other health care professionals dedicated to promoting health through excellence in infectious diseases research, education, prevention and patient care. The Society was founded in 1963 and is based in Arlington, VA.
