What\u2019s your role and how long have you been a part of our Department?<\/h3>\nElizabeth Gorsuch, MA, is a part of the Division of Hematology. As project coordinator, she knows it takes a lot of time and attention to detail to effectively execute plans. Elizabeth has held various roles at UNC and enjoys interacting with the great people at our institution. Originally from Alaska, she is an adventurous traveler who is hoping see Egypt soon.<\/p>\n
What\u2019s your role and how long have you been a part of our Department?<\/h3>\nI started working with the Division of Hematology on November 1st<\/sup>, 2021.<\/p>\n Previously from the UNC Department of Surgery, where I worked for five years as senior executive assistant to the chair.Prior to that, I worked for a few years in the UNC School of Medicine Dean\u2019s Suite where I supported the vice dean\u00a0for academic affairs and chief\u00a0education<\/p>\n I very much wanted to work with Dr. Jonathan Serody. He has a great reputation on campus both as a leader and physician-scientist, and I was interested in learning more about research and programs related to blood diseases.<\/p>\n Launching the inaugural Thomas C. Shea Clinical Cancer Symposium, scheduled to take place on September 18, 2023. Given that it is the first of its kind, it has been exciting to learn and develop systems and standards to lay the groundwork for what is to become an annual event.<\/p>\n I enjoy the people. Lots of quality humans to interact with.<\/p>\n I\u2019m doing more programmatic and strategic work from when I first started. This is a good development, as I enjoy working on big-picture projects.<\/p>\n I spend a lot of time executing small details and processes to make things happen\u2026a lot of time.<\/p>\n At one time in my career, I was the executive director of an international, professional training program at UNC.It was rewarding to build a program from scratch and work with other national programs to enhance the teaching and learning experience for the participants.<\/p>\n I have always wanted to go to Egypt.<\/p>\n Hot yoga, swimming, reading, travelling, and cooking.<\/p>\n Stop being so hard on yourself!<\/p>\n I was raised in Juneau, Alaska.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Elizabeth Gorsuch, MA, is a project coordinator in the Division of Hematology.
