On September 7, staff from the Center for Aging and Health<\/a> represented the UNC School of Medicine<\/a> at the Duke Caregiver Community Event<\/a>. The goal of the daylong event was providing caregivers access to education, support, and resources.<\/p>\n

Held at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel in Durham, conference organizers included the Alzheimer’s Association and the Dementia Alliance of North Carolina<\/a>. Over 500 general caregivers attended the event along with over 90 professional attendees. On top of that, over there were also 100 exhibitors at the event.<\/p>\n

As a Silver Sponsor and also an exhibitor, the Center for Aging and Health hosted a booth. Representing the Center were Associate Director of Policy and Strategic Alliance Ellen Schneider and Project Manager June Weston.<\/p>\n

In addition, UNC Geriatrics Clinic social worker Bryan J Godfrey gave a presentation entitled Caring for the Caregiver. <\/em>In this talk, he spoke about the stress or caring for another person.
