Rick Stouffer, MD, chief of the Division of Cardiology, has been accepted as a new member to the Association of University Cardiologists (AUC), an organization limited to an active membership of only 135 academic cardiologists. The peer elected members traditionally are the leaders and best investigators in American cardiology.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Throughout his 23 years at UNC, Dr. Stouffer has had a major impact at all levels of the cardiology program. He is a consummate physician who is highly respected by residents, fellows, and faculty for his expertise in the cardiac catheterization laboratory, his clinical judgement in patient care, his contributions to cardiovascular research, and most importantly his leadership. Dr. Stouffer has the remarkable ability to combine clinical activity and basic research with a strong leadership role in the development of the cardiovascular division.
