Natalie Grover, MD<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The American Society of Hematology (ASH) announced Natalie Grover, MD, associate professor of medicine in the UNC Division of Hematology, as the recipient of the Joanne Levy, MD, Memorial Award for Outstanding Achievement. The award was announced at the 66th<\/sup> Annual ASH Meeting and Exposition on December 7 in San Diego. This prestigious annual award recognizes the ASH Scholar Award recipient with the highest-scoring abstract for the ASH Annual Meeting, as determined by appointed abstract reviewers.<\/p>\n

Dr. Grover was recognized for her groundbreaking abstract titled “CD30-Directed CAR T Cells Co-Expressing CCR4 in Relapsed\/Refractory Hodgkin Lymphoma and CD30+ Cutaneous T-Cell Lymphoma”.<\/em><\/p>\n

The American Society of Hematology (ASH) is the world\u2019s largest professional society dedicated to serving clinicians and scientists in the field of hematology. ASH provides essential resources, research funding, and education to advance understanding, prevention, and treatment of blood-related diseases.<\/p>\n

The Joanne Levy, MD, Memorial Award for Outstanding Achievement honors the legacy of Dr. Joanne Levy, a past ASH Scholar Award recipient and distinguished ASH member who passed away in 2004. A graduate of Harvard Medical School, Dr. Levy was a dedicated physician-scientist who received numerous accolades during her career, including an NIH K08 award for research on the transferrin receptor in erythropoiesis and the ASH Junior Faculty Scholar Award in 2000 for her work on the genetic regulation of iron metabolism at Children’s Hospital Boston.<\/p>\n

To continue Dr. Levy’s legacy, her family generously established this $3,500 grant, awarded annually to an outstanding early-career hematologist whose work exemplifies excellence and innovation in hematology research.<\/p>\n

The ASH Scholar Award is one of the Society’s most prestigious funding programs, supporting fellows and junior faculty dedicated to advancing research in hematology.
