MD\/PhD student Ray Cheever and\u00a0<span data-contrast=\"auto\">and a second-year medical student Grace Lian represented UNC. They were joined by two Duke University students, two UC Davis students, and six students from China for <\/span>Nagoya University School of Medicine\u2019s &#8216;Bridging Community Medicine and Innovations in Japan&#8217; program.<\/p>\n<p>About the experience, Dr. Larson says, <span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cI loved the informative and engaging week I spent in Nagoya exploring the challenges and innovations of healthcare in Japan and our respective countries. As a geriatrician, I was particularly interested in learning about the Japanese care system for older adults. I was honored to be able to engage and collaborate with such dynamic, thoughtful, and innovative colleagues and students.&#8217;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/md\/news\/2025\/02\/unc-medical-students-japan-nagoya-university\/\">Read the full article on the UNC Medical Doctorate website.<\/a><\/p>\n<hr class=\" rule-thick osc-rule\" \/>\n<p><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">UNC School of Medicine is again partnering with Nagoya University School of Medicine for the 2025 program. Two applicants will be selected to participate. To apply, submit a CV, statement of purpose\/interest, and a letter of recommendation to <\/span><\/i><a href=\"mailto:oghe@med.unc.edu\"><i><span data-contrast=\"none\">oghe@med.unc.edu<\/span><\/i><\/a><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. Applications are due February 28. Selections will be announced on March 18.
