Debra Bynum, MD, MMEL, FACP, has been elected to the Alliance for Academic Internal Medicine’s<\/a> Association of Program Directors in Internal Medicine Council. Dr. Bynum is a professor of medicine in the UNC Division of Geriatric Medicine, Vice Chair for Education in the UNC Department of Medicine and the Program Director of the UNC Internal Medicine Residency Program.<\/p>\n

The Alliance for Academic Internal Medicine (AAIM) promotes the advancement and professional development of its members who prepare the next generation of internal medicine physicians and leaders through education, research, engagement, and collaboration.<\/p>\n

A call for nominations was open to members September 11-October 9. Individual councils selected the final candidates for the ballot after review of all eligible nominations. Elections were open to members January 15-February 2.\u00a0All candidates are elected by a majority of the ballots cast; councils retain authority to appoint individuals to serve in roles with unexpected openings.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
