The TBJ published a profile of each award recipient:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/medicine\/infdis\/people\/ross-boyce-md-msc\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-43190 size-medium alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/news.unchealthcare.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/1159\/2026\/04\/Dr.-Ross-Boyce-2-200x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><strong>What motivates you in your everyday work?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Scientifically, I am fascinated by how interactions between people, animals, insects and the environment all impact disease transmission. More specifically, I am interested in developing new ways to prevent people from being infected and even when they are, providing safe and effective treatments.
