\"\"Dr. Ria Dancel (Ria.Dancel@unchealth.unc.edu) is an associate professor in the Departments of Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. She has been the director of the Medicine Procedure Service since its inception in 2014 and directs the Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS) elective curriculum and required intern longitudinal curriculum for the Department of Medicine. She is on the steering committee for the Society of Hospital Medicine – American College of Chest Physicians POCUS certificate of completion program and also serves on the Alliance for Academic Internal Medicine POCUS task force. She has directed and has been invited to serve as faculty for POCUS workshops and conferences nationally. She is also an award-winning educator, having won the Med-Peds faculty member of the year award multiple times, Internal Medicine inpatient faculty of the year, the Academy of Educators mentor award, and the 2021 Pediatric Hospital Medicine national Educational Excellence Award.<\/p>\n

Dr. Tierney is an internal medicine physician at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota where he has practiced since 2003. He is the Internal Medicine Residency Program Director and clinically works as a hospitalist and proceduralist. He is the founder and director of the Internal Medicine Bedside Ultrasound program (known as IMBUS) that has trained over 300 inpatient and outpatient internal medicine residents & faculty since its inception in 2009. He serves as a co-chair of the American College of Physicians Point-of-Care Ultrasound Program, is a member of both the Society of Hospital Medicine\u2019s and AAIM\u2019s Point-of-Care Ultrasound Task Force, and is the course director for several local and national ultrasound courses.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
