Frances Collichio<\/strong> is the Associate Program Director for the Hematology Oncology Fellowship program at UNC. \u00a0Thirty-one years in the field with a variety of positions, including in private practice at the beginning of her career, led her to a depth of appreciation for the work and dedication that is needed for excellence in patient care and teaching.\u00a0 Dr. Collichio kept as her main mission, education. In graduate medical education she was part of the inception of the in-training examination of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) for fellows. She was part of the Milestones committees of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) including the small group that wrote the Hematology Oncology Milestones.\u00a0 She served on the Council for the Alliance Subspecialty Professors where she advanced many positions, including family leave. Besides her work as an educator, Dr. Collichio is a physician who specializes in complex skin oncology, researching and publishing in the field, a wife, mother, and proud grandmother of two wonderful boys. She enjoys running, biking, and creating artwork from found objects.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
