He studied Computer Science and Biology at Duke University before becoming a medical student at UNC. After his third year, Othmane completed a year-long research fellowship in a cancer immunotherapy lab studying how to better target antigens in leukemia. During his clinical rotations, Othmane was immediately drawn to the clinical and diagnostic reasoning found in Internal Medicine.
