Erik graduated from Kennesaw State University with a degree in biology in 2020. After graduation, he worked for a year as a research assistant on various randomized controlled trials, including one for one of the first COVID-19 vaccines developed by Novavax. He then attended the Athens campus of the Medical College of Georgia, where he developed a passion for ophthalmology. Due to his academic achievements and commitment to serving others compassionately, Erik was elected to both the Dean\u2019s Clinical Honor Society and the Gold Humanism Honor Society at the Medical College of Georgia. Erik enjoys running, mountain biking, and cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs.
