{"id":2206,"date":"2013-09-30T16:40:00","date_gmt":"2013-09-30T20:40:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/med-mfmu.sites.unc.edu\/mfmu\/current-studies\/study-2-page\/"},"modified":"2025-06-23T11:27:31","modified_gmt":"2025-06-23T15:27:31","slug":"study-2-page","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/mfmu\/current-studies\/study-2-page\/","title":{"rendered":"ADEPT"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"lead\">Aspirin Dose Escalation for the Prevention of recurrent preterm delivery Trial (ADEPT)<em><br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The ADEPT trial is looking to see if 162 milligrams (mg) or 81 mg of aspirin will help lower the risk of having a repeat preterm delivery.<\/p>\n<p>Aspirin is a medication that has anti-inflammatory properties and prevents blood clots. Taking 81 milligrams (mg) of aspirin per day has already been shown to decrease or delay the risk of preeclampsia (high blood pressure problems) and pre-term births in pregnant individuals. Some studies indicate that a higher dose may further decrease these risks. The ADEPT Trial is studying these benefits in increased dosage!<\/p>\n<h2>You may be right for this study if:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>You are at least 10 weeks but not more than 16 weeks pregnant with one baby<\/li>\n<li>You delivered more than five weeks early (before 35 weeks) in your most recent pregnancy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>This study is not right for you if:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>You are having two or more babies<\/li>\n<li>You have not had a pre-term birth<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>If you&#8217;re not sure if you qualify please <a class=\"internal-link\" title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/mfmu\/contact\" target=\"_self\">contact us<\/a> so we can help guide you.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>*This study will be recruiting through 2028 and participants will be compensated for their time*<\/em><\/p>\n<h2>More Information<\/h2>\n<p class=\"TextBody\">This study is funded by the <i>Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development <\/i>(NICHD).
