Immune regulation of diseases and radiation-induced injuries 

Research

I have developed and examined gene knockout mouse models to study immune regulators in radiation-induced injury.  I am testing contributions of innate and adaptive immune signaling pathways and developing products to promote the recovery of cells and tissues after radiation-induced injury. In addition to studies related to radiation mitigation candidates, I have assisted in the study of immune regulators in neuroinflammation, infectious disease, cancer, and allograft transplantation. I have focused on the development and application of animal models to explore immune mechanisms related to the protection of animals and humans from injury due to environmental factors.
