As a doctoral student, he joined the lab of Dr. Debashis Mitra, where he focused on differential gene expression in HIV-1 induced T-Cell Apoptosis. He then worked as a postdoctoral researcher with Dr. Georges Herbein on the role of HCMV in cancer in liver and mammary cells at Universit\u00e9 de Franche-Comt\u00e9, Besan\u00e7on, France.
