Door prizes and raffle sign up; Danielle Williams

On January 20th, student representatives from the Microbiology and Immunology (M&I) Student Leaders Planning Committee held a social event for M&I trainees.

The occasion, attended by twenty graduate students and two post-docs, welcomed trainees to the Spring semester. All enjoyed several rounds of games, and the opportunity to network amongst their peers. The organizers also raffled off four prizes including a diploma frame, a pair of Apple AirPods, and two Bluetooth speakers.

The event was held as part of an initiative from the Education and Training committee (E&T), Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee (DEIC), Peer Mentor Network (PMN) and Graduate and Professional Student Government (GPSG). This collective of student representatives across several committees aims to assess and promote student climate through programming designed to support the needs of all M&I trainees.

Special thanks to the planning committee, Colleen Steward, Drake Phillips, Taylor Tibbs, Danielle Williams, Jennifer Loome, LaKeya Hardy, for organizing this event. The M&I Student Leaders Planning Committee look forward to hosting additional programming events this semester!
