All university-affiliated international travel must be registered in the UNC Global Travel Registry (http://globaltravel.unc.edu). This applies to all UNC students, faculty, and staff. The Global Travel Registry is UNC-Chapel Hill’s central reporting and communication system for students, faculty, and staff traveling abroad. Students on approved programs offered through the Office of Study Abroad website or through their professional school administrator are pre-registered and do not need to complete their registration independently.

The purpose of the registry is to facilitate communication with members of the Carolina community who find themselves in an international crisis situation so that the University can provide assistance. The information you provide will only be used for communication purposes in such situations. To register a trip, log in to the Global Travel Registry at http://globaltravel.unc.edu.

University policy also requires that international travelers on university-related trips enroll in the travel insurance program established by General Administration for the UNC System. This insurance is administered by HTH Worldwide. To enroll in this coverage, please contact Risk Management Services at 919.962.6681 or risk@unc.edu. As with the Global Travel Registry, students on approved programs offered through the Office of Study Abroad website or through their professional school administrator are pre-enrolled and do not need to complete their enrollment independently.  For more information, please see Policy 1409 – Insurance for Study and Travel Abroad (http://financepolicy.unc.edu/policy-procedure/1409-insurance-for-study-and-travel-abroad/).
