She is a bacterial geneticist and microbiologist by training and her scientific career has been focused on determining the precise mechanism by which conventional antibiotics fail to eradicate bacterial infections. She has identified low ATP as a major determinant of antibiotic tolerance in\u00a0<i>Escherichia coli\u00a0<\/i>and\u00a0<i>Staphylococcus aureus<\/i>\u00a0and exploited this knowledge to improve antibiotic efficacy in a mouse model of\u00a0<i>S. aureus<\/i>\u00a0bacteremia. She has identified novel antibiotic adjuvants with potent activity against persister cells and biofilms. Dr. Rowe-Conlon is an expert in murine infection models including bacteremia, skin and soft tissue and diabetic wound infection models. She has 23 peer-reviewed publications in high-impact journals including\u00a0<i>Nature Microbiology\u00a0<\/i>and\u00a0<i>Nature Biotechnology<\/i>.
