The goal of the Medical Mentors Program is simple: to bring medical students together with their undergraduate peers. By doing so, our hope is that medical students and pre-medical students will build relationships that supplement the undergraduate advising experience and relieve some of the stresses of choosing a career in medicine.

How it Works

MMP works with the Carolina Pre-Medical Association and the UNC’s pre-health honor society, AED, to match interested undergrads with available medical students at the beginning of each academic year. After that, mentors and their mentees can choose exactly how they want to work together: from e-mail conversations to lunches to visiting medical school classes.

MMP also hosts events throughout the year to facilitate mentoring relationships and to provide opportunities for everyone in the program to interact. Events will include a meet and greet cookout, anatomy day, and a spring panel regarding summer opportunities.
