NC Maternal Mental Health MATTERS (Making Access to Treatment, Evaluation, Resources, and Screening Better) is North Carolina\u2019s Perinatal Psychiatry Access Program. Our vision is for all perinatal patients in North Carolina to have access to <\/span>timely<\/span><\/strong> and high-quality mental health care and substance use treatment services.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What is NC MATTERS?<\/h2>\n

NC MATTERS was created to support health care professionals with identifying and managing their perinatal patients\u2019 behavioral health in environments where appropriate services are scarce. By offering real-time psychiatric consultation, resource and referral services, and training opportunities to health care professionals across the state, NC MATTERS works to reduce health disparities and increase healthy birth outcomes<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

NC MATTERS will not bill you or your patients for our services.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Our Partners<\/h2>\n

NC MATTERS was established with funding from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), Maternal and Child Health\u202fBureau\u202f(MCHB) with the goal of\u202fenhancing\u202fsystems for\u202fscreening, assessment, and treatment of\u202fdepression, substance use, and other behavioral health disorders\u202fin pregnant and postpartum patients. We sustain our programming through continued funding from HRSA and NC Department of Health and Human Services.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

W<\/span>e also work closely with state and national programs and organizations who are continuously working to improve mental health services for parents and families:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
