North Carolina health care professionals across the state will be invited to participate in a collaborative learning program focused on expanding access to quality mental health care for perinatal people. <span class=\"TextRun SCXW130962350 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW130962350 BCX0\">Made possible through H<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW130962350 BCX0\">ealth Resources and Services Administration (HRSA)<\/span> <span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW130962350 BCX0\">funding to <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW130962350 BCX0\">the <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW130962350 BCX0\">N<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW130962350 BCX0\">orth Carolina<\/span> <span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW130962350 BCX0\">D<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW130962350 BCX0\">epartment of Health and Human Services<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW130962350 BCX0\">, Division of Public Health, in partnership with UNC and Duke, this <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW130962350 BCX0\">program is<\/span> <span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW130962350 BCX0\">designed to be interprofessional <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW130962350 BCX0\">and <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW130962350 BCX0\">include<\/span> <\/span>each of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canva.com\/design\/DAF85nOZf20\/sjGTib9zHS5qZyiGoj9sxg\/view?utm_content=DAF85nOZf20&amp;utm_campaign=designshare&amp;utm_medium=link&amp;utm_source=editor\">six perinatal care regions<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Participants will have the opportunity to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Gain the tools and knowledge <\/strong>to effectively screen, assess, and manage perinatal mental health and substance use disorders in pregnant and postpartum patients.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Increase their confidence <\/strong>in delivering evidence-based interventions and creating individualized care plans to address the unique needs of parents experiencing behavioral health challenges during the perinatal period.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Learn how to effectively communicate with patients <\/strong>about sensitive topics related to mental health and substance use, building trust and improving patient engagement.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Develop skills to advocate for systemic changes <\/strong>for patients struggling with perinatal mental health and substance use issues, both within healthcare settings and in the broader community.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Partner with the NC MATTERS team <\/strong>to support local initiatives and improve community resources for families, focusing on creating accessible, culturally competent care options.\u200b<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div role=\"tablist\" class=\"panel-group yourcustomclass oscitas-bootstrap-container\" id=\"unc-accordion-0\">\n\n<div class=\"panel panel-default oscitas-bootstrap-container\">\n\n    <div id=\"panel-heading-details-0-0\" class=\"panel-heading oscitas-bootstrap-container\" role=\"tab\">\n\n        <h2 class=\"panel-title oscitas-bootstrap-container\">\n\n            <button class=\"accordion-toggle oscitas-bootstrap-container collapsed\" \n                id = \"button-details-0-0\"\n                data-toggle=\"collapse\"\n                data-parent=\"#unc-accordion-0\"    \n                aria-controls=\"#details-0-0\"  \n                aria-expanded=\"true\" \n                href=\"#details-0-0\">\n                Where do I apply? Selected Fellows will be notified by Friday, March 6th.
